Fundraising: Where It Is Headed?
The technology of this world changes by the moment. Every moment, something new is developed. It may be an app, website, software or a device, but something new arises. The world we live in today has been fundamentally altered by the technology and social media that is available to us. People use it daily to manage their lives, companies and other things. Ministries also need to adapt to this new technology world and use it to further their ministry. One of the things a ministry can benefit from the ever-growing technology world is fundraising. Fundraisers are put on by just about every ministry because of the money it can raise. Fundraisers are used to raise money for building funds, youth trips, missions and so much more.
Ministries will find that using the technology and social media that is available to them will help further their fundraisers. Adjusting and updating the fundraising efforts to join today’s technology and social media sites will be useful today, but in the future as well. Here are some suggestions to help your ministry with the adaptation and fundraising efforts.
Multi-Outlet Fundraising
By doing a multi-outlet fundraiser, you will need to aim to reach people through different methods. Some people read the local paper, some read news websites, some have news headlines emailed to their cell phones and some have updates texted to their phones. In other words, people get their news in many different ways. So, don’t use one single way to try and reach people for your fundraiser. Instead, use different means to reach them as everyone is different and will receive it in a different way.
Fundraising with Social Media
Joining the world of social media will help you further your fundraising efforts now and in the future. Many people use Twitter, Facebook and other social sites to interact with friends, family and the rest of the world. So, using the social media tool is a sure fire way of ensuring you will have better fundraisers now and in the future.
Segmentation
Segmenting a contacts database is one of the easiest and most important components of ensuring an organization's fundraising future. This will help eliminate confusion that may arise from having multiple communication channel choices.
Social Accountability
Last but not least, all ministries will need to demonstrate financial accountability to their board of directors, but many forget to expand it further. For example, how specific gifts are used to donor and followers. Followers want to know how their donations are being handled, so this is a great means to keeping track of that information.
The Vision Group offers a complete series call Taking Your Ministry Global, which takes your ministry through the effective methodology of Social engagement for fundraising. Contact us for more information.

Fundraising Through Networking
Proper fundraising through networking is all about being able to focus your effort on networking with the right people and really growing a list of contacts. Every single step that you take towards growing your network will eventually help you get the most out your overall efforts, because the kind of progress that you achieve completely depends on how you partner with other people/businesses. Keep reading to learn some of the things that you can do to make sure that you ensure that you're taking the right approach to your fundraising network efforts to make sure that they yield as high a result as possible.
Focus on Giving, Not Taking: If you want your fundraising network to truly be a powerful weapon, you need to make sure you're a giver, not a taker. In the beginning you need to see what you're giving before you can really receive. This makes it easy for you to effectively network with other people and actually get a favorable response from them. When you're the one who initiates the first contact with someone else you need to show that person the vision and ministry you can offer so that he or she will feel comfortable enough to give back to you. This is how that old principle of "give and take" functions within the world of development and it is going to really help you out in the long term. No information by itself will move you to action, and that is true for fundraising networking, as well. Most people, the majority of them, do nothing all throughout their lives to impact others, you have a chance to change that through your ministry.
Know Whom You Want to Meet: If you're hoping a specific person will introduce you to his/her network you first need to know who that person is. It is important to be as clear as you can be about which sorts of people you most want to get in touch with and who you think will truly benefit your organization. This specific aspect is going to help you offer a clear description to the people you already know and who can help you reach the right people in their own networks. This probably seems small now but it's a big in sustainability.
In the long run all of the work that you have done to build your fundraising network will have been worth it. It is going to take some time before you start to see real results from your network, particularly if you are just starting out but if you put in a consistent effort it will have been well worth it. There's so much you can achieve with your organization if you just learn how to build your fundraising network and use it effectively. So what exactly is it that you are waiting for? Go ahead and start applying the above ideas to start building your own network that your ministry can benefit from.
5 Ways Your Ministry Can Use Social Media Sites Outreach
Social networking sites is a great way for ministries to reach people in their target audience and can help them build contacts for a core group in a start-up. This tool allows ministries to reach new people and get their word out at the same time. If you are looking to start up a group to reach lost souls and minister to people, you may want to consider social media sites. So, exactly how can you do that? Well, here are five ways you can use social media sites like Facebook and Twitter for your ministry.
Build a Facebook Page
For starters, you can build a Facebook page for your organization and provide information about your organization on it. You can also provide links that point back to the organization’s website. Also on the page, you can add things like personal testimonies from people in your organization, upcoming events your organization may be having and other things that are going on with your ministry. Keeping your Facebook fans up-to-date with what is going on will keep your group striving.
Build Up Your Page with Fans
If you already have a Facebook page or are fixing to create one, you will need to build your page up with fans. This is where members of your core group will come in. Get them to join your Facebook page and get their friends to join as well. Once their friends join, they will tell their friends and it will go on and on.
Other Social Sites Invitations
On other social sites that are available, you should send out request to people who fit your target audience. Send them invites to join you in your ministry. You can browse for people who live in your area, who share the same interest as you and more.
Develop Online Friendships on Social Sites
Another thing that will help you with your ministry in the social networking world is developing real genuine friendships. If you have friends on your list, interact with them. Talk with them and let them know you care. Don’t just send them an invite and never speak with them again.
Keep Your Page Updated
You will also want to keep your page updated at all times. Having a page that lags behind will not help you much. If you keep it updated, your followers will interact with the ministry more. Keeping it updated will show them you care and that you want to let them know what is going on.
